News / Accused of brandishing a knife
A YOUNG woman from Lerwick accused of assaulting three people by brandishing a knife and threaten to stab them was released on bail when she appeared from custody at the town’s sheriff court on Tuesday.
Nineteen year old Aylesha Jessica Meades is also accused of being in possession of a knife in a public place, namely the Hoofields area of Lerwick on 15 August.
Her case was continued without plea until 2 September. As part of the bail conditions she was ordered to stay at her home address of 18 Ladies Drive every night between 7pm and 7am.
Meanwhile, a 34-year old man from Burra appeared in private and from custody before the court accused of assaulting another person at Posers nightclub on Saturday night, and also being in possession of a lock knife.
Marvin Inkster made no plea or declaration and was committed for further examination. Bail was granted.
