News / Two medivacs
The Sumburgh based search and rescue helicopter was tasked to two medivacs on Wednesday, one to the east and the other to the west of the islands.
The first call came in at about 3pm from the Beryl Alpha platform, 90 miles east south east of Sumburgh, where an oil worker was with heart and kidney problems was in need of medical attention.
The chopper had just taken the man to the Clickimin landing site at 6pm when again being tasked, this time to go to the Petrojarl Foinaven installation, west of Shetland, to airlift a man with a dislocated shoulder.
The second medical evacuation was completed by 8.30pm.
