News / Man died in Clousta blaze
SHETLAND police have confirmed that the man who died as a result of a fire at a small house on the west side of the islands was 58 year old Tam Ramsay, who lived there.
Fire crews were called out to the blaze at 4.10am on Monday morning at a remote croft house near the settlement of Clousta.
Three fire engines from Bixter, Walls and Scalloway attended the scene with 17 firefighters and one officer used three hose reel jets and four breathing devices to fight the flames.
The roof of the house has been completely destroyed.
A detailed joint police and fire investigation is to be carried out into the cause of the incident.
