News / Hardy’s heading north

Jeremy Hardy gears up for his journey north with a trip to the seaside.

POPULAR comedian Jeremy Hardy who appears widely on TV and radio is to visit Shetland in July as part of his national tour with a show at Lerwick’s British Legion.

The hard-working stand up is best known for his regular outings on programmes like The News Quiz, I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue, QI and Mock the Week and last year saw the tenth series of Jeremy Hardy Speaks to the Nation on BBC Radio Four.

He has also appeared in films and featured in Blackadder Goes Forth, but most of the 53 year old’s time is spent on the road with his own “satirical and often cutting” one man show, with which he has been touring for the past 31 years.

Hardy said he chose the Legion for his first appearance this far north to achieve a “club-type atmosphere” allowing him to engage more with his audience.

The show takes place on 14 July with tickets going on sale via Shetland Box Office, Ticketmaster and Music Glue from 10am on Friday 3 April.
