News / Solan delayed
MORE delays have been announced to oil developments west of Shetland, after Premier Oil announced they were pushing back the start date for production at the huge Solan field.
The company has blamed the slump in the oil price as well as the difficult conditions in the far north due to the poor weather over the winter.
The announcement comes after Petrofac said they had lost £160 million last year on the Total gas plant construction at Sullom Voe and did not expect to make a profit on the construction site this year.
Total, who will operate the gas plant, have said production will not start until July this year, one year behind schedule.
