News / Blaze rips through Cullivoe garage

A GARAGE in Cullivoe was completely destroyed by fire on Friday morning.

Fire crews from Yell and Unst were called to the scene of the blaze at just after 9am.

They used two hose reel jets and four sets of breathing apparatus to tackle the fire, which was declared extinguished by 10.13am.

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said crews were expected to remain at the scene for another hour.

No one was injured.
