News / Camera Centre’s tweet success
LOCAL retailer Camera Centre has been the first in Shetland to win promotion via the Small Business Sunday website.
Each Sunday, business guru and Dragons’ Den panelist Theo Paphitis awards six small businesses by retweeting their description of what makes their businesses unique to his 250,000 #SBS followers.
Camera Centre owner Ben Mullay said he couldn’t believe his luck when messages came in showing he had won.
The winning tweet was: “Can you hear us from Shetland? UK’s most exciting camera store cleverly hidden-but easy to find at www.thecameracentre.net.”
“I’m overwhelmed by the win and just how immediate the response was. It just goes to show how powerful social media has become – and why it’s so important for companies like ours,” Mullay said.
