Oil worker airlifted to GBH

AN OIL worker in need of medical attention has been airlifted from the standby vessel Ocean Spey on Sunday morning.

Shetland Coastguard was alerted at 8.40am and tasked search and rescue 102 to go to the vessel in the East Shetland basin, 113 miles north east of the isles.

The man was taken to the Clickimin landing site and transferred to the Gilbert Bain Hospital by a waiting ambulance.

Later on Sunday, coastguard teams helped make ferry arrangements for a medical evacuation from Unst.
