SHETLAND’S inter island ferry service returned to normal on Saturday allowing islanders to travel to and from the mainland again after all but Bressay was cut off by the gales on Friday.
NorthLink too have returned to normal after two days of cancelled ferries, and freight operators Streamline have allowed the Daroja to leave Lerwick harbour for the first time since Wednesday.
Scatsta oil airport is operating over the weekend to transfer offshore workers who have been stranded during the fierce storm, which is being forecast to return next weekend.
