News / New job for former police chief

FORMER Shetland area commander Malcolm Bell has started his new job as interim general manager with social enterprise COPE, in Lerwick, this week.

Mr Bell will stay in his new post until a permanent general manager is appointed.

Chairman of the COPE board, Jimmy Smith said: “We are delighted to welcome Malcolm on board at this important juncture in the development of COPE.

“We would also like to thank Vikki Laurenson for her outstanding contribution whilst the post was vacant.”

Mr Bell said he had long admired the social enterprise and was flattered to be asked to take up the interim position.
