SHETLAND Charitable Trust (SCT) is on the lookout for new trustees.
The board of up to 12 trustees helps shape the strategic direction of the trust and oversees its reserves of more than £450 million.
More than £10 million is awarded in grants each year to support community activities across Shetland, including vital funding for around two dozen voluntary organisations.
SCT chair Robert Leask said: “It is rare for a community to have this level of resources to put to good use.
“Four trustees have just completed their first four-year term and we are delighted that they have chosen to continue for another four years.
“If we can find more people of that calibre it will stand the trust, and the community, in good stead for the years ahead.”
Trustees are expected to attend four formal trust meetings a year as well as contributing to specialist committees.

ADDITIONAL opening hours are being introduced at the NHS Shetland walk-in clinic at Grantfield as the pilot service continues to expand.
From Monday 5 October the clinic will be open from 12pm to 8pm on weekdays, alongside its existing 9am to 5pm weekend service.
NHS Shetland said the extended weekday opening hours will provide more opportunities for people to access same-day care for non-life-threatening health concerns.
The vaccination team also continues to operate from Grantfield during the week.
Dr Deepa Shah said the extension was “an important step in the continued development of the walk-in clinic pilot”.
“As a walk-in service, demand can vary considerably throughout the day and there may be periods when people need to wait to be seen.

The walk-in clinic is available to everyone in Shetland, including people who are not registered with a local GP practice.
THE CHEAPEST petrol in Shetland is at Bolts Car Hire in Sumburgh, according to data from British Fuel Prices.
Analysis of official Fuel Finder data showed that 175.8p was the cheapest petrol price in Shetland as of 1pm today (Tuesday).
It comes after the RAC Motoring Organisation reported on Monday that diesel prices had hit an all-time UK high, with petrol prices also increasing, due to the war in the Middle East.
British Fuel Prices said the cheapest diesel in Shetland was found at Skibhoul Stores in Unst, where the price was 202.0p today.
The average for Lerwick was 206.5p, compared to 199.3p across the UK, it said.
MEANWHILE Green MSP Kristopher Leask has used rising fuel costs to reiterate the need for a nationwide £2 bus fare cap.
The Highlands and Islands – where Leask is a list MSP – already pay a maximum of just £2 for bus journeys as part of a Scottish Government trial.
The government says it is committed to rolling out the cap across the country.
Leask said the increasing costs showed that reliable public transport was needed now more than ever.
“A nationwide bus fare cap is the next step towards a public transport system that is free and accessible to everyone, and ultimately brought back into public control,” he said.
