Transport / Loganair to end flights from Dundee to London Heathrow later this year
FLIGHTS from Sumburgh to London Heathrow via Dundee are set to come to an end from September, Loganair has said.
The airline has announced that it will be ending the Dundee to Heathrow service in September following a review of its network and operations.
Currently Loganair operates flights from Sumburgh to Dundee, and then on to London Heathrow, on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the summer months.
Loganair is believed to be exploring alternative London airport destinations to continue the Dundee link after September.
In a statement, it said it remained “remain committed to our Dundee base and its ongoing operation, which includes reviewing alternative London airport options.
“Our teams within the Dundee base have been kept proactively informed throughout this process, and we remain fully committed to both our colleagues and the communities we serve.
“We will share appropriate information in due course.”
The Sumburgh-Dundee-Heathrow link was first announced in April 2023, and has been a popular link from Shetland to the UK capital ever since.
