Business / Development company to continue supporting Hillswick shop board for another year
THE NORTHMAVINE Community Development Company (NCDC) says it will continue to support the Hillswick Shop board over the next 12 months as they develop ways to make the business viable in the long-term.
It also said that “renewed enthusiasm from the community has brought encouraging momentum” regarding the shop.
This prompted a public meeting at the end of February.
NCDC said in a statement today that thanks to several local residents stepping forward to join the shop board, “there is now potential for the shop to become sustainable if the community continues to show such strong commitment to their local shop”.
In a statement the development company said: “NCDC will continue to support the shop board over the next twelve months as they work to develop ways to make the shop viable in the long term.
“NCDC extends sincere thanks to everyone who attended the meeting and to all those who have offered time, ideas, and commitment to ensure the shop remains at the heart of the local community.”
An EGM for the Hillswick Shop will be held in the Hillswick Hall on Wednesday 25 March at 7.30pm.
NCDC said it encourages all members of the community to attend and show their support for the Hillswick Shop.
