Letters / Interesting defence
Regarding recent positions by two candidates on a major planning application on a wind farm, an interesting defence was put up by our council leader: I didn’t know, I wisna there, a big boy did it an ran away!
The two most important legal things on the council’s agenda that it has some say over – finance and planning – and our council leader is not on planning!
This might explain why Our Future – the big plan created before/during and under cover of Covid – was never taken out to public consultation, the perfect time with so many at home.
There has been a real ‘We’re listening’ rush lately. There have been so many listening events and consultations and service surveys that one will understandably be ‘consultationed’ out death, given the apparent backlog.
Any yet when her administration consulted on the Knab masterplan, a major development for Shetland, never mind Lerwick (an over- development in my opinion), not one single idea, thought, question, was taken on board by her development gurus.
Does the leader know which way is up?
