Letters / Foreign interference

Just what is it about Shetland politics that folk living in other parts of the UK and even in other countries entirely feel they have the need to interfere, and attempt to influence the outcome of local elections?

I can imagine the uproar if Shetland folk tried to influence the outcome of German elections, or the local elections in Aberdeen, and yet Hannah Mary Goodlad seems to live rent free in the head of Mr John Tulloch of Aberdeen, though I think she’d be happy if an eviction notice was served asap.

Many of those engaging in this foreign interference suggest that Hannah Mary cannot deliver what she claims. How on earth could they possibly know?

They don’t even live in Shetland. They have no idea who she is. But they don’t make any reference to other candidates. Why is that I wonder? Could it be that they are terrified of the galvanising effect that she is having in Shetland?

Let’s face it, we know what the Lib Dems can deliver, and it’s not very much. We have a pretty good idea that Labour, Tories and Reform will deliver absolutely nothing for Shetland or Scotland, and the Greens may have their hearts in the right places, but their gimmicky outlook and lack of seriousness will never get us a seat at the table in the Scottish Parliament.

The only serious candidate left is Hannah Mary Goodlad. If you really want to find out just what she is capable of, then give her your vote, give her the chance she is asking for to deliver for Shetland.

Hannah Mary will be getting my vote, she is earning it, no one else is.
