Transport / NorthLink warns of possible disruption through to weekend
NORTHLINK is warning of potential disruption to ferry services between Tuesday and Saturday this week.
The ferry operator said that its passenger and freight vessels could be affected by forecasted high winds throughout the week.
It comes with visitor numbers expected to rise sharply over the next week, with tourists and locals alike preparing for next week’s Lerwick Up Helly Aa festival.
NorthLink said that more updates would be provided as the forecast updates.
Tonight’s (Monday) freight sailing of the Helliar from Lerwick is expected to be two hours late arriving into Aberdeen tomorrow, while the Kirkwall stop is under review on the Hildasay‘s run north from Aberdeen on Tuesday night.
