Business / Lerwick Hotel could get major facelift
LERWICK Hotel could be in line for a major reconstruction should plans by Brudolff Hotel Group come to fruition.
The company has released a preview of what a new bedroom wing plus refurbishment of other parts of the hotel may look like.
Managing director Robert Smith said the company was initially thinking of refurbishing the existing bedroom wing but has now decided to rebuild it completely.
Lerwick-based PJP Architects were asked to come up with a design.
“The design certainly has us excited, with all rooms with sea views and large view windows,” Smith said.
“It is the same number of bedrooms as before, but each with all the modern amenities expected, and a couple of suites as well.”
He added that management would now look at current building cost estimates before deciding on its next steps.
“We need to look to the future and the generation after us and ensure quality hotel accommodation to match the best elsewhere,” Smith added.
