Business / Power cut knocks out Tesco’s fridges and freezers
IT WILL take until the start of the week for Tesco to be able to restock its empty fridges and freezers, the company has confirmed.
The supermarket had to withdraw frozen and chilled food after a power cut on Friday evening knocked out freezing and chilling equipment.
The store at Lerwick’s South Road stayed closed until 10 am this morning (Saturday) to allow for staff to remove stock from the shelves.
In a short statement the company apologised for the inconvenience and added that engineers were working to resolve the issue.
“We currently anticipate frozen and chilled food to be available again at our Lerwick Superstore from Monday,” the company added.
