Transport / Kirkwall call cancelled due to Storm Floris
THE HROSSEY will not stop in Kirkwall tonight (Monday) due to forecasted adverse weather from Storm Floris.
NorthLink said the Orkney stop had now been cancelled, with arrival into Aberdeen tomorrow (Tuesday) also potentially being delayed by up to two hours.
The Hjaltland will sail from Aberdeen for Lerwick at 7pm tonight, and may also be delayed by up to two hours arriving tomorrow.
It comes with a yellow weather warning in force for Shetland from 6am today until 8am tomorrow.
The Met Office is predicting that gusts could touch 57mph this afternoon, before dropping off and picking up again in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The freight boat Helliar‘s sailing from Lerwick for Aberdeen will also leave two hours earlier today, at 4pm, and could be delayed by up to two hours arriving tomorrow.
Tuesday’s northbound sailing of the Hrossey from Aberdeen to Kirkwall and Lerwick “may be subject to minor weather-related delays”, NorthLink added.
