A spokesperson for SSE Renewables said a fault to a mobile temporary generator was identified as being the cause of the fire, which happened in the morning of 29 December.

They confirmed that the fire and rescue service attended the scene.

“Nobody was harmed during the incident and the fire was quickly extinguished,” the spokesperson said.

“Procedures have been put in place to minimise risk of potential reoccurrences.”

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said the report of a fire nearby a wind turbine came in shortly after 7am on 29 December.

“Operations control mobilised one appliance to the scene,” they added. “The crew left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
