Council / Scalloway Boating Club granted occasional alcohol licence for Tall Ships

Signboard reading "SCALLOWAY BOATING CLUB" with sailing boats on the sea and islands in the background.

SHETLAND’S licensing board granted an occasional licence this morning (Monday) for the Scalloway Boating Club.

It is for the events happening in Scalloway ahead of the Tall Ships visit to Lerwick later this month.

There will be a Viking procession in the evening with entertainment from the Plonkys at the boating club to follow.

A procession with a difference: galley burning to take place in July ahead of Tall Ships

On sale will be permitted to the public from midday on 25 July to 3am the following morning.

Off sale was also granted on the same day from midday until 10pm.

There was no objection from the police, as the application matched the 3am extensions already granted for the Tall Ships events that week.

The licence was therefore granted by the board.
