Council / SIC cancels and postpones meetings following the Queen’s death
SHETLAND Islands Council has cancelled and postponed a number of upcoming meetings following the death of the Queen on Thursday.
A policy and resources committee meeting on Monday has been rescheduled to 26 September.
Meetings of the integration joint board and its audit committee scheduled for Thursday (15 September) have been cancelled. Agenda items will be taken forward to the next meetings.
Meanwhile the Shetland external transport forum, scheduled for Wednesday (14 September), has also been cancelled.
The UK Government said a period of national mourning will take place from today (Friday) until end of the day of the Queen’s state funeral.
It has issued guidance on the national mourning period.
