Business / Another cruise called off due to weather
THE START of the 2022 cruise ship season has been delayed for a third time due to the weather.
The 229m Viking Venus was set to call into Lerwick this morning (Thursday) but her captain decided to bypass Shetland and head onwards to Norway as a result of the weather.
The next stop-off in Lerwick Port Authority’s busy cruise calendar is the 109m Gann on 22 March.
This year’s cruise season was originally due to start in February but the weather put paid to the plans.
More than 120 cruise ship visits are expected in 2022.
