Community / Covid themed Up Helly Aa bill at the Cross

THERE may be no Lerwick Up Helly Aa taking place today (Tuesday) – but the bill has still made an appearance at the Market Cross.

It runs on a Covid theme as it gives a nod to the NHS vaccination effort, while it casts a hopeful view that as time goes on normality is a “day nearer”.

The Lerwick fire festival has been postponed for a second year in a row, with the next event scheduled for 2023.
