Community / Power off in Scalloway and Burra
OVER 500 properties in the Scalloway and Burra area lost power this morning (Tuesday).
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) confirmed that as of 9.30am 475 properties remained without power after engineers re-routed supplies.
Power was affected shortly before 8.30am and SSEN hopes to have everyone back on by 11.30am.
Once supply is restored engineers will establish the source of the fault.
A spokesperson for SSEN said: “We would like to apologise to our customers who have been affected by this morning’s power cut, and assure everyone that our engineers are doing all they can to get these supplies back on as safely and as quickly as possible.”
