News / Westside power cut

MORE THAN 800 households in the westside lost power for a while on Thursday evening after an electricity pole went on fire near Kergord.

A spokeswoman for Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks said it was alerted to the incident at just after 8pm.

Engineers disconnected 832 customers at 8.38pm to isolate the affected part of the network, and they were able to reroute and reconnect by 8.50pm.

The spokeswoman apologised for the inconvenience.
