POSSESSING a single ecstasy tablet cost a 20 year old man £300 when he appeared at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
Keiran Roy Llewellyn, of Hulsidale, Burra admitted possessing the controlled drug at the Esplanade in Lerwick on the Sunday morning of 25 February.
The court heard that his behaviour was such that it led officers to search him, when they found the drug valued at £10 to £15.
DRIVING without insurance has cost an Unst resident a £300.
Michael Maloney, 50, of Belmont, admitted driving a car on the A968, near the Westings junction, on 9 January.
MEANWHILE the court is to consider evidence of “exceptional hardship” before sentencing Joanne McKay at a hearing on 5 July.
McKay, 37, of Blydoit, East Voe, Scalloway admitted driving with no insurance on the B9074 at East Voe on 2 February.
She has eight penalty points on her licence and could lose it unless the sheriff accepts evidence of exceptional hardship.
