News / Fish carrier towed in
A NORWEGIAN registered fish carrier with four crew on board is being towed to Aith Voe for repairs after encountering propulsion problems off Foula in the early hours of Saturday.
The Aith lifeboat was tasked at just after 5am to assist the Migdale which had broken down and was drifting five miles to the northeast of Foula.
The lifeboat towed the 40-metre vessel to Aith where she is anchoring offshore to wait for a tug.
Lifeboat engineer John Robertson said: ‘Conditions were rough with a swell of between four and five metres but we managed to get a tow connected at the first attempt.”
