News / Bob’s 30-year recognition
A LONG-STANDING member of the Walls coastguard rescue team has been presented with an award marking 30 years of service and good conduct.
Bob Hudson was given the award by coastguard area commander Dave Sweeney and senior coastal operation officer Alex Dodge on Sunday (10 December).
Bob has served the Shetland community for HM Coastguard since 1986 and has been involved in many high-profile rescues, including an incident on Ronas Hill which he and his colleagues received a commendation for.
Sweeney said he wanted to thank Bob for his long and continued service: “It’s great to know that we have people like Bob in HM Coastguard that will assist in a time of need at any time, night or day,” he said.
