Letters / William Christie link

The Shetland Archives has acquired a copy of a booklet by Dr William Christie called Paucae Micae [= A Few Crumbs], published by the Castlelaw Press in 1971.

It comprises translations of Horace into the dialect of the Mearns, where, according to an introductory note, Christie spent “much of his boyhood”.

I am wondering if this Christie might be a connexion of the William Christie who was principal teacher of English and history at the Anderson Institute from 1928-39. He was born in the Mearns.

If anyone has any information about Dr Christie, I would be very pleased to hear about it.
