Drink driver banned

A LERWICK man was fined £400 and banned from driving for one year after he appeared from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday morning.

Shaun Goudie, aged 19, of 26 West Baila, admitted being exactly twice the legal limit for alcohol when he was stopped on the town’s King Harald Street on Saturday.

Honorary sheriff Arnold Duncan said Goudie could reduce his ban by three months if he completed an alcohol awareness course.
