News / Men deny abduction charge
A TRIAL date has been set after two Russian men appeared from custody before Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday afternoon charged with abducting a woman.
Juris Lapcenoks, aged 35, of 1 Skerpalea, Sandwick, and Agris Kezbers, aged 38, of 29 Cheyne Crescent, Lerwick pled not guilty to a charge of abducting a woman at an address in Cunningsburgh by binding her wrists and her legs together with adhesive tape and detaining her against her will, on Saturday.
Kezbers also pled not guilty to a charge of reckless damage by smashing a front door window at the same address.
Trial was set for 23 February next year and both men were released on bail with the special condition neither to approach or contact the complainer, nor to approach her address in Cunningsburgh.
