Letters / What a mess our nation is in…
On 1 April 2026 the United States of America launched a manned mission to circumnavigate the moon.
On 1 April the United Kingdom issued a warning that we might struggle for aviation fuel for a flight from Aberdeen to Sumburgh.
This is not a sign of American dominance; this is a sign of the utter dire straits our country finds itself in because of political mismanagement and polarised political ideology over the past two decades.
We’re about to go to the ballet boxes in Scotland in the next month and we have to ask ourselves, do we want more of the same? The same mono politics offered by the six main political parties.
In a few years’ time we’ll return to national elections and we have to ask ourselves the same questions.
Who is going to change our course because the current system is broken and we’re being failed across the board.
