Transport / Heavy snowfall affects transport links throughout the isles
- All bus services suspended
- All flights cancelled
- Disruption on inter islands ferry services
- Yellow weather warning for ice and snow in place until Monday

TRANSPORT links across the islands will be disrupted today after some heavy snowfall over night.
A Met Office amber weather warning for snow expired at 12pm today (Saturday), a yellow weather warning for snow and ice continues to be in place until Monday.
Road conditions across Shetland have been described as challenging and hazardous in places and gritters are out this morning clearing and treating roads.
Police are advising motorist not to venture out unless it is absolutely necessary.
“Drivers should exercise extreme caution and allow extra time if travel cannot be avoided,” police said.
All public bus services are suspended for the rest of the day and all essy kert runs scheduled for today are cancelled.
The Whalsay, Yell and Bluemull Sound ferries are running but services will experience delays.
The Whalsay service will run the Linga service only, while the Bluemull Sound service will also be operating to a single vessel timetable.
The NorthLink ferry Hrossey is expected to arrive at Lerwick at 10am, two and half hours after schedule. She is scheduled to depart for Aberdeen at 7pm tonight.
The northbound Hjaltland will not call at Kirkwall on Saturday night, and her arrival at Lerwick on Sunday morning could be upon to two hours late.
All flights in and out of Shetland have been cancelled.
