THERE was a chance to burn off the Christmas dinners and mince pies at Dale on Sunday as runners of all ages took part in cross country races.

In the senior men’s race Neil Arthur came out top with a time of 22.19.

Murray Todd ended up with a finish time of 23.03 but was in the under 20 mens section due to his age.

Other quick times included Euan Duernberger (23.14) and Ronan Bourke (23.20).

Charlotte Black won the senior women’s race with a time of 25.38, while Lynsey Henderson came second with a time of 28.53 ahead of Monica Moncrieff in third place (29.25).

Both of these events covered a distance of 5,800 metres.
