News / Potential Veensgarth house fire confirmed as false alarm
A POTENTIAL house fire in the Veensgarth area has been reported now as a false alarm.
Two fire appliances from Lerwick had been tasked with attending the scene after a call at around 1.35pm.
As well as two fire appliances, two police vehicles and an ambulance also headed out Lerwick’s North Road at around 1.45pm.
SFRS said a fire alarm had been activated in or around Veensgarth, and that it was responding to the call as of 2pm.
However at 2.30pm SFRS confirmed that it had been a false alarm, and crews were on their way back.
