Transport / Early sailings, late arrivals and possible freight cancellations later this week
BOTH OF NorthLink’s passenger ferries are set to leave early on Friday night due to forecasted weather and tidal conditions.
The Hrossey will leave Aberdeen an hour early, at the earlier time of 6pm.
And the Hjaltland, which was due to leave Lerwick at 5.30pm, will also leave an hour early at 4.30pm.
Her arrival into Kirkwall is expected at 9.30pm, with NorthLink saying she will leave for Aberdeen as soon as loading operations are complete.
She could be up to three hours late arriving into Aberdeen on Saturday morning, NorthLink has warned.
Both freight sailings of the Helliar and Hildasay are under review for Friday, with a further update expected tomorrow (Friday) morning.
