Arts / Nine bands over two nights as festive rock festival returns
SHETLAND’s winter rock festival is back next month – and organisers said there is “something for everyone to enjoy”.
Riffmas, now in its third year, will see a total of nine bands play over two nights at the Gulberwick Hall – Friday 5 and Saturday 6 December.
The acts playing on the Friday night will be The Revellers, Trowsholm, Bitumen River and Shipyard Riot.
Saturday’s line-up features Essykert, Fully Licensed, Stallions of the Highway, Blackout Fear and Joking Aside.
One of the organisers Callum Anderson said it is “always a great atmosphere” at the Gulberwick Hall at Riffmas as the community comes together to enjoy “festive celebration of live music”.
“We are really looking forward to launching the festivities this year with a celebration of originals and covers, heavier and less heavy…there’s something for everyone to enjoy, even the Grinch is gonna love it,” he added.
“It’s ages 16 plus so younger folk can get the opportunity to enjoy live music. We think this is really important to influence the next generation of musicians.
“So don’t be shy, grab a ticket while they’re still available and come join the party.”
Tickets for Riffmas are available online, with a weekend pass up for grabs in addition to entry for Friday or Saturday night only.
