SHETLAND women’s hockey team begin the defence of their Scottish District Cup crown on Sunday against Edinburgh University 6’s.

The blues, who won the trophy for the second time in three years in April 2025, travel to Aberdeen this weekend for the tie, which starts at 12pm on Sunday.

The men’s hockey team are also in action today (Saturday), taking on Edinburgh University 5’s in the Scottish Reserve Cup competition.

That game is also being played at Aberdeen Sports Village, with pass back at 12 noon.

Shetland men’s team made the semi-finals of the same competition earlier this year, only missing out on the final on running penalties.

Away from the hockey field, Shetland Valkyries are in action at Gilbertson Park in Lerwick on Saturday afternoon.

The league champions welcome Lochaber to Shetland for a first-ever match up between the sides, with kick-off in that game at 2pm.
