SINGER-SONGWRITER Callum Beattie closed out the final full day of Rising North festival at the Clickimin on Saturday night.

The Scottish performer, who will headline Glasgow’s Hydro later this year, was the star attraction as this year’s festival reached its crescendo.

He had a strong contingent of local talent to follow, with home favourites Rack & Ruin, Shipyard Riot and The Deadpans ensuring the crowd were well warmed up for the headline act.

Also on the bill were Glasgow-based band Hound, who boast local singer Zack Manson in their line-up.

The party continued after the Clickimin concert was over with the after-party at Mareel, where DJ Lyall opened for The Plonky’s to play into the small hours.

The festival is being closed out today (Sunday) with a free non-ticketed gig in the Mareel cafe bar, with bands such as Delorean, Just Another Cake Fridge and North Country Fair performing.
