EDINBURGH rockers High Fade were the headliners of a raucous and rowdy Rising North Friday night, as the music festival returned for its second year at Clickimin.

It was a stacked line-up on Friday, with Fully Licensed and Scaldin Bragg among those offering a searing start to the packed crowd.

The Fiction and (the) 3310 also took to the stage, offering alt-rock and pop-punk respectively, paving the way for High Fade to close the first full night of action out.

The funk-rock trio were little known to some in Shetland before being announced as headliners, but produced a performance that will surely have won them more than a few new fans in the isles.

The party continued into the small hours, with Basement Monkeys headlining at Mareel until after 2am.

Rising North returns today (Saturday) with another stacked day and night-time line-up at the Clickimin, ranging from bands like the Isaac Webb Trio and Quorum through the day to Glasgow band Hound and local favourites The Deadpans at night.

Callum Beattie is set to bring the second night to a close with a headline slot at Clickimin.
