In Pictures / Ceremony held to mark 80th anniversary of VJ Day
A CEREMONY was held at the county war memorial in Lerwick this morning marking the 80th anniversary of VJ (Victory over Japan) Day.
This marks the date in 1945 when Japan surrendered to the Allied forces, ultimately ending the Second World War.
At the war memorial there was an act of remembrance as well as wreath laying.
