Community / Royal visit for new Fair Isle Bird Observatory

PRINCESS Anne is set to visit the new Fair Isle Bird Observatory later this month.

The Princess Royal will head to the island on 11 July.

She is then due to open the Island Games in Orkney the following day.

Princess Anne last visited Shetland in 2023 for the Tall Ships, while she also went to Fair Isle on a private trip in 2019.

The new Fair Isle Bird Observatory opened its doors at the start of the summer, providing a major boost to the island.

It was built following a devastating fire at the former bird observatory in 2019 which destroyed the building.
