Community / Partially sighted man visits Shetland in Britain-wide fundraising challenge
A PARTIALLY sighted man has been in Shetland as part of a fundraising challenge to travel the length of Britain.
Kris Baillie is raising funds for Fife sight-loss charity Seescape, which is celebrating its 160th anniversary.
Much of his journey is on public transport to highlight the challenges partially sighed and disabled people face getting around.
The Fife man travelled to Shetland earlier this week and is due to head Penzance at the southern end of England by train – before getting a bus back home to Scotland, with the challenge set to cover six days and more than 3,000 miles in total.
Baillie has been supported by Seescape since receiving a diagnosis of partial sight loss in 2015.
He said he wanted to give something back to the charity, adding he wanted to demonstrate “that it is still possible to travel and live fully, with the right support, which is what Seescape has given me”.
