The by-election is being held following the resignation of Tom Morton at the end of October.

The result is expected to be declared at the Islesburgh Community Centre later this morning.

The turnout for the by-election was 39.6 per cent. There are 2,490 registered voters in the ward.

Seven polling stations were open for voting on Thursday – North Roe, Hillswick, Brae, Voe, Mossbank, Vidlin and South Nesting.
