Marjolein joins big names at ‘dream’ comedy agency

Marjolein Robertson.

LOCAL comedian Marjolein Robertson has signed to an agency which also represents big name acts like Kevin Bridges, Michael McIntyre and Alan Carr.

Agency Off The Kerb said Robertson has “fast become one of the UK’s most exciting names”.

The comedian and storyteller said it was “pretty wild” to be signed by the agency.

“They’re the dream agency I didn’t even dare to dream of signing me,” Robertson said.

“So, so happy to be working with Lily and all at Kerb, so blyde they wanted to sign me.

“Unless they think I’m a different Marjolein Robertson and have made a terrible error on their part. Terrible for them. But the best possible thing that could happen for me!”

A spokesperson for Off The Kerb said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be representing Marjolein and can’t wait to bring her brand-new show to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this year.

“Working with and championing Scottish talent is something which is incredibly important to us, so it’s a real honour to be working with Marjolein and to be at her side throughout what we know will be an enduring, successful career in comedy. Watch this space.”

It comes as the comedian has announced her latest Edinburgh Fringe show O, which is also being produced by Off The Kerb.

The blurb says: “There will be blood. Literally. Not like ‘Oooh Daniel Day-Lewis’ because this isn’t his story.

“It’s Marjolein’s. Talking about body stuff, specifically blood. Which everyone knows is the most hilarious fluid known to man. This is not gore for gore’s sake. This show has the potential to save lives.”

Before that though she is continuing on her debut UK tour, with a homecoming date scheduled at Mareel in Lerwick on Friday 17 May – but tickets are limited.
