SEUMAS MacKay has won silver again at the men’s 800m final in the Island Games this morning.

He won gold for the same event four years ago in Gibraltar.

It is his second medal of this year’s games, after he won silver in the 1,500m on Tuesday.

Also in Guernsey this morning, Shetland’s long-distance athletes all completed the half marathon in under 90 minutes.

Mary Rutherford came 11th in the women’s race, and for the men, Brett Haining came 19th, Neil Arthur 24th and Russel Gair 28th.

The men as a team came 9th overall.

Still to come before tonight’s closing ceremony is the cycling town criterium, triathlon relay and final round of golf.
