Arts / Richard Osman joins Shetland Noir line-up

TV presenter and author Richard Osman has been confirmed to appear at this year’s Shetland Noir festival.

Richard Osman will be heading to Shetland this summer.

Osman’s first novel, The Thursday Murder Club, and his second, The Man Who Died Twice, are million-copy international bestsellers.

He is also well known for TV shows, including Pointless and Richard Osman’s House.

Shetland Noir is curated by Ann Cleeves and local author Marsali Taylor, and it focuses on crime literature.

The Shetland Arts event, taking place on 15-18 June, will also include elements of music, live performances and other ‘noir’ related content.

Also on the line-up are the likes of ‘Queen of Crime’ Val McDermid, writer Elly Griffiths and forensics expert Dr James Grieve.

“I’m thrilled that Shetland Noir has attracted such an amazing line-up for the festival,” Cleeves said.

“Of course there are the starry headliners, but the festival will showcase a host of other authors too from established bestsellers to exciting newcomers.”

Shetland Noir passes are on sale now and tickets for individual events will be available in April when the full programme is announced.
