Council / Essy kert collection changes in South Mainland and Tingwall
COLLECTION days will change for household waste and recycling in parts of the South Mainland and Tingwall from next week.
The changes have been made to accommodate increased collection loads and changes to staffing arrangements.
From Monday 7 November:
- In Quarff, collections will now be made on Mondays, instead of Wednesdays.
- In Fladdabister, collections will now be made on Mondays, instead of Fridays.
- In Gulberwick, collections will now be made on Tuesdays, instead of Wednesdays.
- In Cunningsburgh, collections will now be made on Wednesdays, instead of Fridays.
- In Tingwall, collections will now be made on Fridays, instead of Thursdays – although collections in Veensgarth will remain on Thursdays.
These changes will remain in place for the foreseeable future. Householders are asked to present bins as usual on the new collection day by 7.30am.
Shetland Islands Council said it would like to thank householders for their co-operation with these changes.
Anyone with queries on the changes can call the council’s environmental services team on 01595 744891. More information can also be found online.
