Police / Emergency services called to Scalloway house fire

POLICE say a woman has been taken to hospital following a house fire in Scalloway.

Emergency services were called to the property on Houl Road at around 11.45am today (Sunday).

Three appliances, from Lerwick, Brae and Sandwick, attended and the fire was put out shortly before 1pm.

Fire control added that a hose reel jet and four breathing apparatus had been used.

Meanwhile a Police Scotland spokesperson added: “Officers were called to a fire on Houl Road, Scalloway, Shetland around 11.45am on Sunday, 19 June, 2022.

“A woman has been taken to hospital. Emergency services remain at the scene.”
